More detail on this person: Jerry Wayne Collins Jerry Wayne Collins, 58, Sarasota, died Nov. 15, 1997. He was born May 7, 1939, in Griffin, Ga., and came to Sarasota 20 years ago from Davenport, Iowa. He owned Collins Chiropractic Center. A graduate of Georgia Southern College and Middle Georgia College, he earned his doctorate from Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport. He was a decorated Medivac helicopter pilot for the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Sarasota Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Christine A. of California; four sons, T. Gregory of Charlotte, N.C., Matthew A. McDonald of Portland, Ore., Andrew M. McDonald of Sarasota and John P. McDonald of Dallas; a brother, Clifton G. of New Orleans; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 6:45 p.m. today, with a service to follow at 7, at Sarasota Baptist Church. Burial will be private. Hawkins Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Hallett Prison Ministry, P.O. Box 1015, Sarasota, FL 34230.
