More detail on this person: HAROLD E. CULLEY JR. Retired Army Col. Harold E. Culley Jr., 62, of 346 Devane St., Fayetteville, died Friday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Durham. He was a former Commander of the 82nd Aviation Brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division. Mr. Culley flew more than 1400 combat hours during his Vietnam tour. He held numerous positions in the 82nd Airborne Division including Company Commander in the 1/325th Airborne Infantry Battalion and Commander of Troop C of 1st Squadron, 17th CAV. Mr. Culley received the Defense Superior Service medal, the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Bronze Star. He was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the Main Post Chapel on Fort Bragg by Father Kita. Burial with full military honors will be April 13 in Arlington National Cemetery. Mr. Culley is survived by his wife, Dorothy Culley of the home; a son, Scott A. Culley of Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Cheryl C. McFadden of Savannah, Ga.; a brother, Robert E. Culley of Brewster, N.Y.; and five grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, or to the American Cancer Society.
