More detail on this person: LCDR Thomas Cogswell was a Navy helicopter pilot attached to Helicopter Attack (Light) Squadron Three, HA(L)-3 in Vietnam where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal (Individual Action); 2 Air Medals (Strike/Flight), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (w/4 bronze stars), Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. This is in addition to other medals and awards from other duty stations.
