More detail on this person: TH-55A crashed w/WOC Berkey. Bill was TAC with 1ST WOC and sent
belongings to his uncle in D.C. His father was on 0-6, branch unknown. Reported hearing unusual
engine sounds and then observed the aircraft to enter a slight nose low attitude and descend near
vertical to ground impact in a wooded area.
Investigation revealed that the engine was not running and the main rotor RPM was 100 or below at
the time of ground contact. Reason for engine stoppage remained undetermined.
