More detail on this person: Marvin was born on March 21, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to Essie Margaret Dinkins and Marvin Elwood Dorris. Marvin was a proud Veteran of the US Army, he served in the Vietnam war as a helicopter pilot. He was a great man, well respected and loved by all who knew him. Marvin enjoyed fishing and was well known for his cooking. He was a member of "The Quiet Birdman" airplane pilot group and was a Mason. Marvin was self-employed working as a real estate broker for 22 years, previously working for Exxon. Marvin was a wonderful husband, an amazing father, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents: Marvin and Essie Dorris. Survivors include his loving wife: Elizabeth Dorris from Aransas Pass, Texas; son: Ryan Dorris from Tomball, Texas; daughter: Marley (Mike) Sammons from Rockport, Texas; brothers: Stephen (Dianne) Dorris from The Woodlands, Texas and Gary (Diane) Dorris from Huntsville, Texas; 2 grandsons: Garrett and Davy Dorris.
