More detail on this person: Our beloved father Major William (Bill) Doak Dubuisson Jr, United States Army, Retired passed away peacefully at home on Monday June 26 2023 at the age of 77. He leaves behind his children Elizabeth O'Dell and Andrew O'Dell, Billy Dubuisson III and Rebecca Dubuisson, Steven Dubuisson and Chelsea Fletcher, his grandchild Elodie O'Dell, and his sisters Julia Garvey and Esther Baugh. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Kathy Lynn Schintzius Dubuisson, his mother Mary Leah `Mimi' Smith, and his brother Joseph Dubuisson. He was born in Mobile, AL on September 20, 1945 and grew up in Ocean Springs, MS. Bill served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he spent two tours of duty as an Attack Helicopter Pilot in the 162nd Aviation Company. He would later serve many years in the Alabama National Guard. He retired at his highest held rank of Major. He later attended The University of Southern Mississippi where he earned a Master's Degree in Psychology in 1976. Bill and the love of his life Lynn were married in 1975 in Bay St Louis, MS. Bill and Lynn lived throughout the south, but Mobile, AL was their home together for nearly 30 years. Bill was an alcoholic and it has been over 49 years since his last drink. Bill lived his life as a family man, a soldier, a counselor, a sponsor, a teacher, and a friend. The family asks that donations to your local Alcoholics Anonymous or a nonprofit addiction recovery charity of your choice be made instead of flowers or other gifts.
