More detail on this person: James A. Damon KERRVILLE - James A. Damon, 64, passed from this life at a local hospital on Thursday morning, Nov. 15, 2007. He was the husband of Donna (Scogin) Damon. Born in Houston, Texas, on June 7, 1943, he was the son of Earl and Adele (Williams) Damon. Mr. Damon was a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War and was a Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army. He was on the board of ESD1 and the Kerr County 911 Board and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kerrville. He was an avid gun collector and owned a gun shop for many years. Mr. Damon is survived by his wife, Donna (Scogin) Damon of Ingram; sons and daughter-in-law, James Archie and Cheryl Damon of Sachse, Texas, and John Speer of Ingram; daughters and sons-in-laws, Julie and Brad Engel of Austin, Laurie and Rick Agee of Austin and Melissa Myer of Houston; seven grandchildren, Cody and Rhia of Sachse, Emily and Evan of Austin and Amber, C.J. and Kelsey of Austin; a brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Phyllis Damon of Dallas; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. Funeral services will be at First United Methodist Church of Kerrville at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, with the Rev. Warren Hornung officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville. In lieu of floral arrangements, memorial contributions may be made to the Ingram Volunteer Fire Department or to the American Lung Association.
