More detail on this person: Mr. Joseph Ephraim Duvall January 16, 1942 - October 7, 2016 A soldier has fallen. Our country and family will mourn the loss of our father, brother, husband, and friend. Here is his story: Joseph E. Duvall, 74 Joseph "Joe" Ephraim Duvall, 74, of Orlando, Florida, passed away, Friday October 7th 2016. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 15th at Willow Creek Church, 4725 East Lake Drive Winter Springs, FL 32708, Pastor Pete Alwinson will be officiating. A reception will follow. Joseph was born January 16, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida to Maynard and Mary Elizabeth (Roberts) Duvall Sr. He graduated from Dan McCarty High and received a Bachelor's degree of Design from the University of Florida. In 1967 in Jacksonville Florida Joseph E. Duvall was drafted into the Aviation division of the Army. On September 14th 1968 he married the former Blanche Martin in Stuart Florida. On October 4th 1968 he was ordered to active duty in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. After almost a year of active service for our country Joe was shot down while on a rescue mission. He returned home with a National Defense service Medal, Army Aviator Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Medal with 19 Oak Leaf Clusters, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 Device, Army Commendation Medal, 2 O/S Bars, and finally A Purple heart. Joe returned home to marriage. Blanche and Joe were married for 13 years whilst producing their two sons Andre M. and Shawn E. Duvall. After their divorce in 1981 he met and fell for the love of his life Donna Lee Goeseke. On May 7th 19 83 they married and combined families and lives for the next 33 years. Joe was employed as an Account Executive at Creative Printing and Publishing. He enjoyed work and only retired a few years prior to his passing. He was an avid scale and R/C model builder and a member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilot Association. He spent most of his weekends with his children. He also enjoyed watching nature and football, R/C flying and sail boating. Joe is survived by his three sons, Andre and Shawn Duvall and John Derion, his two daughters Erica Derion and Erin Nelson and his wife Donna L. Duvall ; ten grandchildren, Andre, Arcadio, Donovan, Daeton and Leven Duvall, Emma Nelson, Ryan Murphy, Daniel Derion Schultz, Michael and Sean Derion, his sister Mellisa Chiangi, brother Brazelle Duvall and several nieces and nephews.
