More detail on this person: Ronald Clifford David DECEMBER 3, 1935 - FEBRUARY 15, 2023 Obituary of Ronald Clifford David IN THE CARE OF Radney Funeral Home - Mobile Ronald Clifford David, age 87, of Orange Beach, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Ronald was born in Cincinnati, OH. Colonel "Ron" David Retired from the Army in 1983 after serving 25 years in various command and staff assignments in infantry, cavalry, airborne and aviation units. He also spent two tours in Vietnam where he flew more than 500 combat hours as a helicopter gunship pilot. After retiring from the Army, Ron became Director of Public Affairs and Communications for Atlanta Gaslight Co. (Southern Company) where he worked to serve the community for another 10 years before finally retiring and moving from Atlanta down to Orange Beach with his wife Rita "Sunny" David. Ron was an avid tennis player and member at the Peninsula Tennis and Racquetball club and loved scheduling & playing games with his Tennis buddies. Ron was also a member of the Flora-Bama Church (Worship on the Water) and was a faithful servant of the church and community. Ron helped establish a regular visiting program at the William F. Green State Veterans Home in Bay Minette, AL where Ron and other church members served the veterans in the home by playing music, bingo, taking fishing trips and other activities. This was Ron's true calling in Life and he was committed as a Veteran to serving Veterans in his community. Ron was a loving father of sons Glenn Alan David & Ralph Christopher David (Melanie), dear grandfather to Ryan Christopher David (Maggie), Aaron Scott David and an uncle to his niece and nephews in the Cincinnati area. Ron was preceded in death by his 1st wife Nancy W. David of 22 years, wife Rita "Sunny" David of 32 years and his brother Raymond T. David. A Celebration of Life and Military funeral (Barrancas Cemetery - Blue Angel Naval Base) will be communicated once the dates are finalized.
