He returned home to Cape Girardeau and briefly

went to work for the Sabreliner Corporation. He
worked there for 26 years until his death.
Survivors: He married twice and divorced twice.
He has two daughters from his first marriage and
two grandsons. He is survived by his daughters
Kimberly and Sarah; grandchildren Aaron Dodson
and Cole Proffer; his sister Nancy Duschell; a
neice Heather Duschell; and a nephew Marcus
Duschell.
Bob and I were best friends. I met him when we
entered the Army together in St. Louis in 1968.
We went through basic training at Fort Polk,
Louisiana (E-3-2) and then on to flight school
with class 69-21 in Fort Wolters, TX and Hunter
AAF, GA.
We served with different companies in Vietnam but
kept in constant touch with each other. After our
return we both went to Hunter AAF to attend MOI
but due to the downsizing of the war were sent to
the 3rd Acft. Maint. Bn to serve as test pilots.
We were both released from active duty on the
same day, 1 Apr 71.
We have always remained in touch. He and his
family would visit us and we would visit him. I
spoke with him just days before his death. I will
miss him deeply.
