More detail on this person: Naples - Gerald F. Duggan, age 77 of Naples Florida, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2021 at his home with his loving family around Him. He was the son of the late Arthur J. and Stella A. ( McGlew) Duggan. He married his High School sweetheart Catherine (Cathy McLaughlin) and they had three children, Gerry Jr. (wife Erica) Mandy, (husband Keith Kiernan) and Brett (wife Sonya), five beautiful grandchildren, Amy and Sean Duggan, Catherine and Grace Kiernan and Arthur Duggan. He also leaves his dear sister Denise (husband Joseph Callahan) and many nieces and nephews. Gerry was born and raised in Newburyport MA. He graduated from Newburyport High School and the University of New Hampshire with a BA in Microbiology. While in College He joined the Army ROTC cadet program and earned a fixed wing pilots license. After graduation, he went on to proudly serve His country in the Army Medical Service Corp flying Medivac helicopters in Viet Nam. Then went on to teach flight training at Ft. Walters Texas. Gerry spent the rest of his career in the Medical Divisions of the Plastics Industry, primarily as VP of worldwide Marketing and Sales. Upon retirement, while living in Andover MA., He and his wife Cathy traveled widely through Europe and the Caribbean and then 20 years ago, made their home in Naples Florida. Gerry volunteered at Naples Community Hospital for many years and was very active in the Naples Veterans Association and help create dog training classes so that other veterans could have greater access to service dogs. His faithful canine friend of nine years, Lilly, among them. He enjoyed the sights, sounds and camaraderie of the Naples Heritage Golf and Country Club golf course even more than the game itself! Gerry had a great sense of humor, tremendous honor and loyalty and He will be dearly missed by his loved ones. A private funeral Mass and interment in the family plot at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Newburyport, MA will be held at a later date. A very special Thank You to the Avow Hospice of Collier County for the tremendous loving care he was given in his waning months.
