More detail on this person: DRUYOR, Frank Alden 1923-2010 veteran pilot in three wars, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, Frank is survived by his second wife, Grace Snead Druyor; four children, Nancy Druyor Stephens (Richard Wilhelm) of Tallahassee, William Druyor (JoLynn), Michele Druyor Williams (Richard), both of St. Petersburg, Dave Druyor of Tampa, and five grandchildren, Danielle Druyor, Ryan Druyor, Faye Williams, Diane Williams and Marybeth Williams. Born in Cherokee, IA, his life in the Military took him all over the globe; he spent life after the Army in St. Petersburg. His family passed on a love of travel; he combined that with photography, scuba diving, and painting he learned from his fathers paint store. In later years, he built houses with solar water heaters (1970's) and the Chateau Apartments and a barn for his daughter's farm. He was also a retired Real Estate Broker and active property manager. Flying was his passion in the Army - from a Piper Cub between the front lines directing artillery (he was the first to arrive at Dachau Concentration camp as Germans were leaving, landing on the road in front of the last vehicle before the tanks arrived); to bubble top helicopters in Korea, then the Huey Helicopter in Vietnam. He is free of this earth, but we hope never to be free of his memory. Visitation on Wednesday, Dec. 29th, from 4 to 6 pm, service at 6, all at Anderson McQueen Family Tribute Center, 2201 Dr. M. L. King Jr. St. N.
