More detail on this person: Retired Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3) George Bruce Davis of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on December 18, 2023 and has joined his wife Elfriede in heaven. George, fondly known as Bruce in his younger days, was born in Columbia Missouri to Edgar Lloyd Davis and Dorothy Mildred Davis (Gray) in 1935. George was a kind and loving soul that treasured family and friends. No one was ever a stranger to him and he was always eager to lend a helping hand. George served 20 years in the United States Army wherein he first worked with missiles and then flew helicopters and fixed-wing airplanes. After retiring from the U.S. Army, George served another 16 years as a Deputy Sheriff at the Broadmoor Police Department in Colorado. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Peggy Cureton, Patricia Hales, and Tammy Day, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and other extended family members. George's family will host a niche-side funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2023 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project in George's name.
