More detail on this person: Edward Parks Davis DAVIS, EDWARD P. Army Col. (Ret.) Edward Parks Davis, age 84, beloved husband to Rosemarie Gabrys Davis, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at his home in Milford, CT. Born on October 7, 1928 in Lexington, VA, he was the son of the late Edward and Edith Derbyshire Davis. Upon graduating from the Virginia Military Institute, Edward entered the Army as a First Lieutenant; where he served courageously and honorably in both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After 30 years of military service in 1979, he was employed by Textron Lycoming for 12 years. Since his retirement, Edward has enjoyed his time gardening, fishing, golfing, and playing poker. Edward was a dedicated fan of the UConn Women's basketball team and The New York Yankees. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his loving wife Rosemarie, he is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Davis and Susan Michel (Sean); granddaughter Elizabeth Michel; stepchildren Alan Listenes (Maureen), Kathleen Steinberg (Paul), Jennifer Fleischer (Robert); and seven step grandchildren. Edward was predeceased by his first wife JoeAnn and his sister Edith Prillaman. A Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 5:00 PM at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Saturday, May 11, from 2:00 - 6:00 PM at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the VMI Keydet Club, 304 Letcher Avenue, P.O. Box 932, Lexington, VA.
