More detail on this person: I don't know what
unit Bob was with in RVN for sure but he was in
the 8th Hel Co in Ft Bragg after flight school. I
never saw him again until I got to B 227 , 11Air
Assault in 1963. He was in A 227.. We were sent to
the Dominican Republic in 65 when we finished the
manuevers and they were getting ready to say they
were the 1st Cav. Stayed there til July 66. He
went to Ft Rucker to teach Instruments and got
killed flying TH-13's at Rucker. I'm pretty sure
he shipped out to RVN with the 8th TC.

Four 'Copter Pilots Killed In Air Crash
CLIO, Ala. (UPI) - Four helicopter pilots
- two warrant officers and two warrant officer
candidates - were killed Thursday when two
choppers collided in the air.
The Army immediately dispatched a team
of investigators to probe the wreckage in an
effort to determine the cause of the accident.
The men were stationed at Ft. Rucker. The
Army identified them as Chief Warrant Officers
Robert E. Dixon, 36, of Jessup, Ga. and Thomas K.
Gibbs, 26, of McGregor, Tex.; and warrant officer
candidates Lawrence G. Westbury, 26, of
Oklahoma City, Okla., and James R. Yates, 22, of
Cross Plains, Tenn.
The aircraft were on instruments during a
routine training mission when the collision
occurred. They crashed about 425 yards apart near
a rural home.
One crashed in a pasture and the other
came down in a pine thicket.
