More detail on this person: James Arthur Dean,
Jr. of Ambler died August 12, 2016 at his home in
Philadelphia at the age of 69. Born in Ambler, he
was the son of the late James Arthur Dean Sr. and
Bernice Dean. Following his graduation from
Wissahickon High school he pursued higher
education at West Chester University. He
interrupted his studies to join the U.S. Army and
served as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War
from 1969 to 1970. He was awarded the bronze
medal for heroic act of valor in combat. James
completed his college studies at Temple University
where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Business
Management. He worked for the Navy Supply center
in Philadelphia, PA for 27 years. Mr. Dean was a
colorful story teller and truly lived a dynamic
life traveling all over the world to places like
Brazil, Australia, Panama, and all of Europe. His
personal favorite destination was New Orleans
where he enjoyed a great amount of his time as a
Punk Rocker! Mr. Dean is survived by his loving
mother Bernice Dean and siblings Killraine M.
Dean, Carrie C. Dean, and Jonathan A. Dean, a
Sister-in-law, Pat, niece and nephew Killraine
David and Portia Nicole, an aunt, Mary Fox, an
uncle, James Williams, Jr. and numerous cousins
and a host of family and friends. Funeral services
will be held on August 19, 2016 at Zion Baptist
Church, Ambler, PA. Interment will be at the
WhiteMarsh Memorial Cemetery, 1169 Limekiln
Pike, Ambler, PA.
Burial: Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler,
Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA
