More detail on this person: Leo Donald Doyle Born in McAlester, Oklahoma, he was the son of Leo and Ruby (Gann) Doyle. He graduated from Canadian High School in 1950. He married Patricia L. Sullivan on Sept. 15, 1955, in Granger, Texas. He attended Oklahoma State University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1959. While in college he joined the ROTC in 1954. He was commissioned into the United States Army and served 20 years, including two tours in Vietnam. During his service he received numerous medals including the Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Medal with Numerals 19, the Army Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver and Bronze Service Star, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and the Master Army Aviation Meritorious Service Medal. He was a member of the Creek Nation tribe. He was also a member of Daedalians National Military Pilots Association. A resident of Eufaula, he passed away at the McAlester hospital at the age of 75. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Doyle, of the home; two sons, Michael Doyle and wife, Julie, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jeffrey Doyle and wife, Brenda, of Chelsea; a daughter, Susan Taylor and husband, Jeff, Seattle. Also, two grandchildren, Dustin Doyle and wife, Nicole, he is serving in the 82nd Airborne in Iraq, and Kimberly Doyle, Essex, England, and a sister, Jeannine McGregor and husband, Ernie, of McAlester. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Daniel.
