More detail on this person: Dana Keith Davis Dana Keith Davis, 66, passed away June 15, 2013 while in the loving care of the VA Liberty Hospice in Salisbury after a long battle with cancer. Keith was born September 24, 1946 in Gastonia to the late Ralph William and Kay Wright Davis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary and Billy Davis. Keith served his country as an officer in the US Army from 1966-1978 with two tours in Vietnam. He received the Bronze Star with First Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Service Medal w/1 Silver Service Star. After his military service, Keith worked as Director of Technology for the City of Gastonia for 31 years until his health declined in September 2012. Keith was a loving, honorable man whose discipline exemplified "the best in everything and everyone" in his work and family life. He will be missed greatly. He is survived by his life long love, Barbara Bourque Davis, wife of over 49 years; sons, David Allen and William Chad Davis. The twinkle in his eyes, his gransons, Brandon Allen, Austin Jennings, and Justin Keith Davis; cousins, Libby Drum and husband Bill, Larry Davis, Annette Whitesides; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Eudy and husband Martin, Priscilla Williams and husband Grady; many more nieces, nephews and cousins with a special place in his heart for his namesake Dayna. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 11:30 am until 2:00 pm, at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia. Keith's "Life to be Remembered" celebration will follow at 2:00 pm in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors with Rev. Dickie Spargo officiating. Interment will follow the service in Hollywood Cemetery with full Military Honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Gaston County, 306 S. Columbia Street, Gastonia, NC 28054.
