More detail on this person: Retired LTC., John Dickinson, of San Marcos, Texas went to be with the lord and savior in early October 2021 at the age of 90. He passed in his home in the arms of his loving wife of 28yrs, Nora Dickinson. He endured a long illness, yet was in peace in his passing. John was a former Army Pilot and Transportation Supervisor. He was awarded a Silver Medal and two Bronze Stars for his outstanding service in Vietnam. He loved his relationship with his military brothers and always tried to participate in Hill Country Retired Association. He utilized his skills as a pilot for the McCoy Corporation Headquarters here in San Marcos, Texas for 10yrs. We extend a special thank you to the Hospice Doctor & Nurses for the loving care they gave John and family. He was an active parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and participated as a Bereavement Ministry and Usher for many years and enjoyed their support in ministry. We thank Rev. Father Jairo Lopez in his assistance in the Anointing of the Sick. We also thank the CNA Care Givers, April, Marty and Tony for all the loving care they provided to John. John is preceded in death by his parents. John is survived by his loving wife Nora Dickinson, a sister in Idaho, Four children, two grandchildren and Nora's family from San Antonio, Texas which includes many loving nieces and nephews. Please join us for a memorial service to celebrate the life of John R. Dickinson. We will gather together on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 624 E. Hopkins St., San Marcos, Texas to remember John who will be greatly missed. Recitation of Holy Rosary will begin at 12:30 p.m. following with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 1:00 pm. Full Military Honors will be presented under the direction of the DAV Honor Guard. In Lieu of flowers please donate to St. John Catholic Church or your own cause.
