He was born September 16, 1946 in Denton, TX to J D and Viola Geneva (Shasteen) Dotson. He was a graduate of Denton High School and Embry-Riddle University at Daytona Beach, FL campus. He was retired from the United States Army as a major, later worked for Texas Instruments, and owned and managed Dotson Properties. He married Kaye Ellen Wills in Denton on March 8, 1969. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, FL. Mr. Dotson is survived by his wife, Kaye of Fort Myers Beach, FL; two daughters, Dawna-Kaye and her husband, Chuck Green of Austin, TX, and Michelle and her husband, Marc Orsini of Bloomfield, MI; two sons, Greg and his wife, Kate Dotson of Lake Stevens, WA, and Tim Dotson of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Geneva Lee Burnett of Burleson, TX, Rebecca Lynn Dotson of Denton; and brother, James (Jim) Dotson of Denton; and three grandchildren, Geoffrey, Dominic, and Giancarlo Orsini. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2011, in the Southmont Baptist Church, 2801 Pennsylvania, Denton, with Dr. Wayne Blankenship, officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 North Locust, Denton on Friday, October 21, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., for visitation. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908
