More detail on this person: Dubov, LTC Bruce J., 79, of Oldsmar, FL went home to be with the Lord
Saturday April 22, 2017 surrounded by his wife and children in the home he loved in Eastlake
Woodlands. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Charlotte Dubov and his step-mother,
Clara Dubov. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Pam; his daughters Barbara Altavilla and her
husband Pete; Debra Lehman and her husband Claude; son William "Scott" Dubov and his wife Debbie;
grandchildren Casey Farley and her husband Justin, Cole Lehman, Trey Lehman, Caroline Lehman, Jeff
Dubov, Kyle Dubov, Cassie Dubov, Anthony Altavilla; great-grandson O. Farley whose picture made
Bruce smile and laugh even through the fog of a stroke; sister Hester Kaufman; and sister-in-law
Sharon Johnson along with many many nieces and nephews. Bruce was a retired U.S. Army officer who
served his beloved country for 25 years including 2 tours of duty in Vietnam where he commanded an
Assault Helicopter Company. His many military awards include a Legion of Merit, three Distinguished
Flying Crosses, five Bonze Stars, nineteen Air Medals and a Purple Heart. If you knew Bruce, you
knew a real American hero who was content to love his family, do his duty, cherish his friends and
encourage his wife every way he could. Visitation will be from noon to 2 pm on Friday May 5th at St.
Paul United Methodist Church, 1199 Highland Ave, Largo FL where his wife The Reverend Pam Dubov
serves as Minister of Outreach and Missions. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with The Reverend
Robert M. Martin, Bruce's friend and pastor presiding and The Reverend Thomas J. Kowalski assisting.
LTC Dubov will be interred alongside his comrades in arms in Arlington National Cemetery later this
summer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LTC Bruce J. Dubov Memorial Fund,
St. Paul United Methodist Church. Our family, community, and country has lost a great man who will
be greatly missed and whose memory we will cherish always. Arrangements have been made by Curlew
