More detail on this person: Hugh C. Durham III SHREVEPORT - Services for Lt. Col. Hugh C. Durham III, (ret.), will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Rose-Neath. Durham, 61, of Shreveport died Tuesday, Oct 3, 2000, in his residence. He retired from the U.S. Army, served three tours in Vietnam and was a decorated aviator. He served as Deputy U.S. Defense Representative to Pakistan and was assistant professor of Military Science at Northwestern State University. He was director of personnel and community activities and executive officer to the Deputy Post Commander at Fort Polk. He also served as an Aviation Staff Officer for the Defense Mapping Agency at the Aerospace Center in St. Louis and was chief of Plans and Programs Branch for the Aviation Test Board. He was assistant director and student personnel services officer for the Alexandria Regional Technical Institute. In 1989, he became coordinator for Central Louisiana Programs at Northwestern State University and in 1991 he was named Registrar at Northwestern, retiring in 1996. He was preceded in death, his Parents, Hugh C. Durham Jr. and Audine Lawrence Durham. Survivors include his wife, Judy Durham of Shreveport; his children, Hugh IV, Sharon, Amy Augustine and Patrick Hetherton; one sister, Rosalind Trussell; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Hernandez, Johnny Reid, Bob Turley, Bobby Sutton Sr., Bobby Sutton Jr., Buster Netherton, Jim Adger, Dr. Pat Peavy, Jim Montgomery, Charles Grubb, Buddy Trammell, Buck Trussell and Ken Epperson. Friends may call from 5-7 p0.m. today in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hugh Durham Fund at Bank One, attn: Private Banking, 400 Texas Street, Shreveport, LA 71101.
