More detail on this person: Gerry Dolin, a beloved father, brother and friend, passed peacefully
in his home on Monday, July 28, 2014.Gerry was a distinguished veteran, and served as a helicopter
pilot for the Army during Vietnam in the 114th Aviation Company. He owned an electronic repair
company in Ventura County for over 30 years, and retired in 2009.
He was an accomplished mechanic and engineer who was often known by his friends as 'Mr. Fix It', due
to his innate ability to perform masterful repairs on anything from automobiles to water softeners.
Swing dancing, water skiing, snow skiing, scuba diving, horseback riding, aviation and travelling
were among his greatest passions, which Gerry loved to share with his family and his many dear
friends. His honesty, generosity, sense of humor and kind spirit will be remembered by all those
that knew him.
Gerry is survived by his sisters, Lynn and Karen; daughters, Wendy and Angelina; son, Chris; and
grandchildren, Ryan, Breonna, and Drake.Any pictures and stories that you would like to share with
the family can be sent to the email address provided below. The family is not asking for donations,
but would prefer any charitable contributions (financial or otherwise) be given directly to The
Match Bone Marrow Registry or the Wounded Warrior Foundation in his honor. For those who wish to
attend, a service will be held in his honor at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road,
Ventura on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 3:00 pm.
A celebration honoring Gerry's passion for life, with a live band and swing dancing will be held
immediately following at, Yolie's Restaurant, 138 W. Main St, in Ventura. Please RSVP to the email
