James Paul Doran, 80 Banner, The (Cambridge, MD) - Friday, October 5, 2012 TRAPPE - James Paul Doran of Trappe, Md., formerly of Fort Washington, Md., passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born April 30, 1932, in Merced, Calif., he was the son of the late Elmer E. and Mabel Oliver Doran. James attended local schools and after graduating he enrolled in college. In 1955, he joined the United States Air Force and served his country for 20 years. retiring as Lieutenant Colonel. He also fought in the Vietnam War. On May 23, 1959, James married the former Bernette Snider and together raised two sons. Surviving James besides his wife, are two sons, Steven J. Doran and his wife Susan of Rhodesdale, Md., Bruce C. Doran and his wife Christine of San Cruz, Calif.; brother, Charles Doran and his wife Barbara of Florence, Ore.; grandchildren, Jeremy Doran, Lori Paul, Lisa Booze, Zoe Doran and Jack Doran; great grandchildren Treavor Doran and Brandon Paul; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, beginning 1 p.m. at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge, Md., with full Military Honors. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Rev David J. Wooten Jr. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of James may be made to the Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
