More detail on this person: DENNEY, ROBERT E., MAJOR USA (Ret.) On June 22, 2002. Major Denney entered military service in 1947; served with the 8240th Army Unit in Korea, the 11th Air Assault in Vietnam; awarded the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars; distinguished Flying Cross and the Combat Infantry Badge. Retiring from thr Army in 1967, he completed a Master's degree, worked in the computer field for a number of years and authored four books about the Civil War. Major Denney is survived by his loving wife, Frances A. Denney; his daughters, Paula J. Jacques and Linda A. Morgan; sons, Bruce E. Denney and Craig A. Denney and grandsons, Gillian L. Jacques, Bryson D. Jacques and Neal R. Morgan. Memorial service August 1, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Ft. Myer Chapel, followed by interment at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
