More detail on this person: WALTER M. DROZD HAMPTON - Col. Walter M. Drozd, U.S. Army, Retired, 76, a native of Philadelphia, Penn., and Peninsula resident 19 years, died Sunday, October 2, 1994. He retired at Fort Monroe in 1975 after 33 years of service. He had served with the 82 Airborne at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and the Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Ala. He received his masters degree from George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and his Ph.D. from the University of America, New Orleans, Louisiana. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lancaster Drozd; one son, Christopher Drozd, of Los Angeles, California; two brothers, Gene Drozd, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Marion Drozd, of California; and one sister, Dr. Lillian Dunsmore, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania. A graveside service will be held in Arlington National Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home. Memorials to Salvation Army, 1033 Big Bethel Road, Hampton 23666.
