Etheridge, U.S. Army (Ret), 69 of Little Rock died
Friday, September 21, 2012. He was born
November 26, 1942 in Harrison, Arkansas to Lois
Griever Etheridge and the late Jubal Early
Etheridge. Ed was a life member of VHPA. He
was in class 68-509 and 68-13 and served two tours
in Vietnam, first with the 114th AHC (67-68) and
USARV NETT OH-6A (69-70). He was awarded
many medals and decorations including the Bronze
Star and the Distinguished Flying Cross. After his
military career, Ed continued to fly, owning his
own company (Mid South Aviation) and was a pilot
for Arkansas Children's Hospital as well as local
law enforcement agencies. Ed was instrumental in
implementing the Friday Night Flights program for
local news station Channel 4. He also enjoyed
fishing and traveling with his wife in their RV.
He was a fun loving person with a great
personality who never met a stranger.
Ed Etheridge is survived by his wife, Patricia
Humphries Etheridge of Little Rock; three
children, Clark E. Etheridge II of Lyon,
Mississippi, Alana E. Payne of Corpus Christy,
Texas, Aaron Lawrence Etheridge of Cabot as well
as two step sons, Alan Quick of Dardanelle and Jim
Quick of Sheridan. Ed is also survived by his
mother, Lois Griever Etheridge of North Little
Rock; one sister, Mary Lynn Knight of Wright; one
brother Lewis Etheridge of Forrest City; two
uncles, Calvin Buddy Griever of Hamburg and Elmer
Griever of Harrison; eight grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
