More detail on this person: Lt. Col (R) Clarence T. Ebbinga, of Enterprise, Alabama, a dedicated husband and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023. He was 79. A Memorial service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Enterprise, Alabama, with Pastor Jim Endrihs officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. Burial will follow at a later date at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday beginning at 12:00 pm and continuing until service time. Clarence was born September 22, 1943 in Avoca, Minnesota, to the late Claus and Annie Cuperus Ebbinga. He flew Hueys for the US Army, served in the Vietnam War, and retired from the military after 24 years of service. Clarence also was a back up bridge player to his wife, JoAnne Ebbinga. In addition to his parents, his wife, JoAnne Ebbinga; daughter, Lara Dicus; brothers, Herman Ebbinga, Jerry Ebbinga preceded him in death. Survivors include his son, Stewart Ebbinga (Ramona); son-in-law, Dan Dicus; sister-in-law, Kay Nelson; grandchildren: Ryan Ebbinga (Whitney Lee), Daniel Dicus, Jacob Dicus, Cameran Clark (Matthew); great-grandchildren: Maddie, Coleman, and Eason Clark.
