More detail on this person: Robert Ellis WYANET - Robert Dewey Ellis, 70, of Wyanet died at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Orchard View Rehabilitation and Health Care in Princeton. Born April 11, 1940, in Wyanet to Dewey Pershing and Ollie Beatrice (Moore) Ellis, he married Judith A. Newman Aug. 7, 1971, in the Bureau Township Church in rural Wyanet. She survives. He was a 1958 graduate of Wyanet High School. He had been employed at LTV Steel in Hennepin, Harper-Wyman in Princeton and Van Packer in Buda. He was a member of Wyanet VFW Post 6634 for 40 years and was a former post commander. He had 25 years of military service, serving as a helicopter pilot in the Army during Vietnam, a military policeman in Desert Storm and as a drill instructor in the Marines at Paris Island, N.C. He also served in the Army Reserves and National Guard. Also surviving are one daughter, Cynthia (Ron) Clausen of Sheffield; and three grandchildren, Angel Grace Clausen of Sheffield, and Jonathan and Andrew Ellis of Wyanet. He was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 22 at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Marvin Claassen officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Wyanet, with military rites conducted by Wyanet VFW Post 6634. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to his family.
