More detail on this person: Major (retired) Paul Rockwell Ewing of Ozark, died Monday, Oct. 8,
2007, at Dale Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 84.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston
Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Weed officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors in
Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at the
funeral home Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
Major Ewing was born Aug. 31, 1923, in Darlington, Wis., the son of the late Earl M. and Rena
Richards Ewing. He was a U.S. Army helicopter pilot for 21 years serving in WWII and two tours in
Vietnam. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1968. He then worked with Civil Service at the Safety
Center in Fort Rucker as an accident investigator for 19 years and was an avid golfer. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sheldon Ewing; one sister, Jeanette Ewing; and two brothers,
Arnold D. Ewing and Richard E. Ewing.
Survivors include one daughter, Pamela R. Muller, Orange Beach; one son, David W. Ewing, Dothan;
three grandchildren, Emily Muller of Glencoe; Paul Robert Ewing of Dothan; Sara Skaggs of Dothan;
and one great-grandson, Aiden Rockwell Freeman, Glencoe.
Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark, (334) 774-4551, is in charge of arrangements.
