More detail on this person: Thomas Edwards FL United States BANGOR, MAINE - Thomas M. Edwards, 62, of Bangor, Maine, a former Daytona Beach resident, died Thursday at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. Mr. Edwards, an Army veteran, was born in Kingston, Pa. He was a former assistant dean at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He was a member of Halifax River Yacht Club, Daytona Beach. He enjoyed sailing and aviation. Survivors include a cousin, James Timmins, Bangor, who provided for his care. Brookings-Smith, Bangor, is in charge. THOMAS M. EDWARDS BANGOR- Thomas M. Edwards, 62, died July 27, 2006, at the Maine Veterans' Home, after a long illness. Tom was a Vietnam veteran, leaving the Army in 1973, with the rank of captain. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his outgoing and generous personality. Tom had two consuming interests, aviation and sailing. For many years he served as an assistant dean at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. He was a member of the Halifax Yacht Club in Ormond Beach, Fla., where he enjoyed teaching sailing to children. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Timmins Edwards. Tom is survived by his cousins, James Timmins of Bangor, Joan Timmins of Flourtown, Pa., Margaret Emmerich of Lexington, S.C. and Mary Zavilla of Whitehall, Pa. and their families. He will be remembered by many wonderful friends in Virginia and Florida. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Allentown, Pa. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staffs of Ross Manor residential care facility and the Maine Veterans' Home in Bangor for the excellent care provided to Tom during his illness.
