More detail on this person: LEO EDDIE ELLIS Headland AL United States Leo Eddie Ellis Leo Eddie Ellis, CW4 retired, of Enterprise, AL, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at his home. He was 81. Mr. Ellis served in the U. S. Army and fought in three wars and was a highly decorated combat aviator. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 20, 2011, in the Westview Baptist Church, (WBC) Enterprise, with Pastor Rick Hayes and Dr. Paul Kendrick officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P. M. Wednesday in the church fellowship hall. Graveside services, with full military honors, will follow at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Old Center United Methodist Church Cemetery, near Newville. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. Memorials may be made to the WBC Building Fund, 809 Damascus Road, Enterprise, AL. 36330 or to Wiregrass Hospice, 1219 Rucker Blvd, Enterprise, AL 36330. Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by a daughter, Sally Yohn, two brothers, Leigh Alvin Ellis and LaBerta Ellis, three sisters, Loretta Barton, LaVaun Sawyer and Rene Forbis. Surviving relatives include his wife of 42 years, Lillie Beth Singleton Green Ellis; daughters, Judy Lawhorn (Jerry), Debby Carter (Steve), Robbin Miles (Chuck), a son, Fred Green (LaJuana), 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grand-children; a brother, Leroy Ellis (Millie), sister-in-law, Jean Ellis; special friends, Dr. Scot Callahan, Robert Washington, Barbara Redden and staff. Holman-Headland Mortuary.
