Howard Eubanks, Jr., 87, of Columbus, GA, passed
away October 23, 2013 at his residence. A
memorial service will be announced at a later
date. Those so desiring may sign a memorial book
at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home 4048 Macon Rd,
Columbus, GA.
Howard Eubanks, Jr. was born July 22, 1926 in
Champaign, OH son of the late Edward and Maggie
Eubanks. Howard was a distinguished war veteran
serving in the Navy during WWII then later
reenlisting in the Army during the Korean Conflict
and serving two tours to Vietnam as a helicopter
pilot. Howard was a member of DAV chapter 7,
VFW Post 665, and retired MOA. Howard attended
St. Matthews Lutheran Church where he was a
lifetime member.
Howard Eubanks is preceded in death by his
parents Edward Eubanks and Maggie Monroe
Eubanks.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years
Mrs. Eleanor Armgart Eubanks, of Columbus, GA;
their children, Mary Lawson and husband Dennis, of
Columbus, GA, Madonna Eubanks, of Columbus,
GA, Patricia Clark, of Pittsview, AL, Howard
August Eubanks and wife Terry, of Seale, AL;
grandchildren, Devin Lawson, David Lawson, Daniel
Lawson, Heather Woolsey, Jennifer Provenzano;
great-grandchildren, Gabriel Lawson, Hayden
Woolsey and Leo Provenzano.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St.
Matthews Lutheran Church, 4026 Macon Road,
Columbus, GA, 31907. Howard Eubanks will
forever be remembered as an honorable man, a
devoted husband to Eleanor, and a loving father to
his children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren; he leaves them with many
memories that will last a lifetime.
