More detail on this person: Bruce Edward Engelking, 65, passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, surrounded by family at his home in Pinehurst.

Bruce was born Sept. 28, 1944, in Wauwatosa, Wis., to the late Herb and Veronica Engelking. After graduating from Nicolet High School and Ripon College, Bruce served with distinction in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War. Bruce then received his law degree at Marquette University, going on to own a successful law firm in Port Washington, Wis.

After 28 years of living in Cedarburg, Wis., his love for golf brought him to Pinehurst. Those who were lucky enough to have known him will remember him as a fun-loving man whose generosity helped many. Bruce had the propensity to make everyone he met feel special.

A loving husband, father and brother, he is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 42 years, Patty; his children, Jeff and Katie; and brother Roger (Marge) Engelking. He will also be dearly missed by his sister-in-law, Donna (Rod) Hyland, and brother-in-law, Red (Mary Ellen) Roskopf.

In accordance with Bruce's wishes, a celebration of his life will be held this spring in Pinehurst. Until then, friends are invited to visit http://bruce.engelking.muchloved.com to share favorite recollections, thoughts and photos in memory of Bruce.

Condolences may be made at www.bolesfuneralhome.com.
