More detail on this person: PETAL Loren D. Eaton died Friday, May 31, 2002, at Wesley Medical Center. He was 74. Born in Kingfisher County, Okla., Mr. Eaton was a resident of Petal. He retired in 1972 from the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a Korean War veteran and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Ballard Eaton of Petal; two daughters, Tamela D. Grant of Petal and Pamela A. Sellars of Sand Springs, Okla.; his stepson, Dr. Paul Ballard of Vicksburg; his stepdaughter, Dr. Barbara B. Mauldin of Petal; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home Memorials may be made to The Lions Sight Foundation of Mississippi Inc., 5455 Executive Place, Jackson, Miss. 39206.
