More detail on this person: Donald Paul Frandsen Dothan AL United States Lt. Col. Donald Paul Frandsen of Dothan died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Flowers Hospital. He was 85. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009, at Memory Hill Cemetery with the Rev. John McCollough officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. Donald Paul Frandsen was born March 4, 1924, in Springville, Utah. He was a graduate of Springville High School and Utah State University. Don Frandsen served 30 years in the United States Army, serving in World War II, Korea, and two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, George Paul and Marjorie McArthur Frandsen; and son, retired Lt. Col. Robert D. Frandsen Survivors include his wife, Phyllis M. Frandsen of Dothan; daughter, Jane Buxton and her husband, John of Huntsville; daughter-in-law, Katherine Frandsen of Leavenworth, Kan.; grandchildren, David Frandsen of Leveenworth, Kan., Elizabeth Brown and her husband, Mark of Lansing, Kansas; great-grandchildren, Aaron Brown and Loyatt Brown of Lansing, Kan.; and a special nephew, Joseph G. Hollos. The military will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James W. McCallister, Robert K. McCallister, Gerald L. McCallister, William A. McCallister, John M. Buxton, David P. Frandsen, Pal. S.J. Hollos, Joseph G. Hollos and Danny R. Cox. Ward Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematory, (334) 792-4194, is in charge of arrangements.
