More detail on this person: Fleck, Rodney A. Saranac, MI On Easter Morning, April 1, 2018, Rodney A. Fleck, our beloved husband, father and brother left his earthly home to eternally soar among the angels. Born January 12, 1946 to Iris (Perry) and Donald Fleck, Rod was raised in Flint, MI by his loving mother and stepfather, LD Leemon, and grandparents, Charles and Gertrude Perry. Rod discovered his life's passion for flying at an early age. As a young boy, he would ask to go to the airport to watch the planes land so often his grandfather started telling him that "Planes can't fly when it's raining." Following his dreams, he built a distinguished aviation career with the U.S. Army and Amway Corporation. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Hewitt) Fleck; children, Aaron (Laura) Fleck, Christopher (Amy) Fleck, Jennifer (Vernon) Goss, and Joel (Stefani) Dunn; stepchildren, Shaina (Ryan) Biller, Brandon (Whitney) Hewitt, Kenna (Jason) VanderWest; sisters, Jolene (B) Padgett, Diane (Ralph) Engle, and Nan (Sue) Leemon; grandchildren, Olivia, Aurora, Bella, Gabby, Elijah, Elsa, Merida, Chad, Casey, Cody, Cheyenne, Ophelia, Bronx, Amelia, Caelan, and Taylor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed in Rod's name to The National Kidney Foundation or Wounded Warrior Project. Visitation with Rod's family will take place Saturday, April 7th from 10:00 11:00 AM with a Memorial Tribute immediately following at 11:00 AM at Stroo Funeral Home.
