Grover A. Flowers, 62, of Englewood, Fla., died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at his residence in
Englewood. Grover was a member of Blue Hat Class 66-23 at Wolters, graduating with 67-1 at
Rucker.
He flew helicopters with the 1st Cavalry Division in 1967-1968.
He and his son Jim attended the VHPA reunion in Orlando and had a super time with his classmates
and unit comrades. Shortly thereafter he was diagnosed with and fought valiantly against the cancer.
Born Aug. 3, 1942, in Punta Gorda, Fla., he was a life long resident of the Englewood area. He is
survived by his wife, Linda of Englewood; a son, Jim (Kerrie) Flowers of Scottsboro, Ala.; two
daughters, Erin (Philip) Barks of Rock Hill, S.C., and Kristi (Todd) Alexander of Englewood; and
grandchildren, Caleb, Dylan and Tyler Barks, Olivia and Abigail Flowers and Grant and Jillie
Alexander. He was preceded in death by his brother, William "Bud" Flowers.
