More detail on this person: Killed in an OH-23 crash in the 1950s. Felker, Alfred C SECOND AIRMAN DIES FORT BENNING, Ga. (AP) - Public information officers identified the second victim of a helicopter crash near Athens, Ga., yesterday as William T. Taylor (Route 3) Franklin, Tenn. The other victim was identified earlier as warrant officer (JG) Alfred C. Felker of Fort Benning. The two were ferrying the helicopter for Benning to Fort Bragg, N.C. They landed at the Athens airport for refueling and crashed about four minutes after takeoff. 10 FEB 53 WO Alfred C. Felker [P] PFC William T. Taylor [CE] Georgia 506 TC H-23 A/C crashed and burned near Winterville while ferrying cross-country from Ft Benning to Ft Bragg. A/C had just departed Athens Municipal Airport. *Felker AAF at Ft Eustis was named in honor, dedicated on 07 DEC 54.
