More detail on this person: ARIEL ALLEN FELIX Ariel Allen Felix, 71, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at his residence. He was a native of Gassaway, W.Va., and had been a resident of Newport News for 34 years. Mr. Felix was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier for 24 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Office 3, retiring after 20 years of service, which included two tours in Vietnam. While serving, he earned the Bronze Star and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerard and Tabtha Felix; sisters, Mildred Runion, Merie Edens, Irene Johnson; and brothers, Garland, Demps, Eugene and Moreland Felix. Mr. Felix is survived by his wife of 35 years, Chun Cha; daughter, Karen Felix; son, Chun 'Junior' Felix; sister, Lucille Felix; brother, Paul Felix; two grandchildren, Erin and Tyler Felix; and two daughters by his first marriage, Debra and Joyce Ann. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Peninsula Funeral Home, with Dr. Seong Soo Kim officiating; burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
