More detail on this person: Mr. Edward Young Freeman, 71, of Broadway, N.C, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center in Lillington, North Carolina.

Mr. Freeman was born on Nov. 18, 1941, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Lillian A. Sullivan Freeman and Charles Edward Freeman . In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sons, Eddie Jr. and Brian Freeman.

He served his country in the U. S. Army. Ed served two tours in the Vietnam War as a Lieutenant and Captain where he served as a helicopter pilot. He was a hard worker who retired from Food Lion as a store manager. Ed was a loving father, husband, brother, and uncle.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Mess Freeman. He is also survived by his sister, Anne Smeal and husband Glenn Sr. of Holly Springs. He was loved by two nieces and two nephews and seven great-nieces and nephews.

A private Memorial Service will be held for the family. There will be no visitation.
