He is survived by wife, Kyoung Suk French; daughter, Susan Switzer of Tampa, FL and step-daughter, Kyoung A. Lee of Korea; son, Walter French, Jr. of Tampa, FL; sisters, Carolyn Carter of Rocky Mt., NC, Sharon Ferrell of Fayetteville, NC and Brenda Taylor of Brentwood, TN; brothers, Bobby Mabe and Larry Mabe of Fayetteville, NC and his loving dog, "Cody"; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, Victoria, Vandalia, Deanna, Jung So, Yea and great-grandchild, Natalie. Walter served his country and retired from the US Army as Major. Visitation will be on Friday, November 6, 2009 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Chapel, 9010 Church Street East, with a full military funeral following at 1 p.m.
