Dennis attended college in Marquette, Michigan. He was a railroad conductor for the Chicago Nothwestern Railroad. Dennis was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was an avid golfer who taught his sons, brothers, and nephews how to respect the game.

He is survived by his wife, Jill Fyksen of Wisconsin Rapids; father George Fyksen of Sarasota, Fla; mother and stepfather, Arlita and Ken Frantz of Brookfield, Wis; two sons, Dennis (Jill) Fyksen Jr of Iverness, Fla. and Jason (Sek) Fysen of Sarasota, Fla.; one daughter, Tracey (Hugh) Harris of Rice Lake, Wis. and eight grandchildren.

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Nekoosa, Wisconsin
