More detail on this person: Major John Bartram Frazee (Ret.) FRAZEE, MAJOR JOHN BARTRAM (RET.), 72, passed away on June 23, 2010 at his home. John was born on September 24, 1937 in Camden, NJ to the late Dr. and Mrs. William H. Frazee Jr. He was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy and Pennsylvania Military College. Upon graduation, he accepted a commission as a second lieutenant on June 1, 1959 in the U.S. Army and reported to Fort Knox on March 14, 1960. John was a veteran of one tour in post-war Korea as a fixed wing pilot and two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot earning a Bronze Star for Valor. He also served as a helicopter instructor pilot, earned his master's degree in public administration and received an honorable discharge on August 19, 1977. After retiring from the U.S. Army, John worked for the Minority Business Association in Louisville, the Oldham County Board of Education and retired from the Louisville-Jefferson County Planning Commission. John was a member of numerous organizations, including the Thruston Chapter of the NSSAR, where he served on the Color Guard. He was also active with VFW Post 1170 Honor Guard. John also worked as a volunteer at the VA Hospital and spent many years volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America. John had been active with the North Oldham Lions Club, White Star Gourd Dance Society, Louisville Connecting Lines Model Railroad Club and a life-time member of the Tecumseh Lodge. John was named a Kentucky Colonel in 1986 in recognition of his service and volunteer work. John is survived by his wife, Ruth; his two sons, William (Katherine) and Carl (Jennifer); his brother, David (Carol); sister-in-law, Virginia Stanton; and three grandchildren, Cameron, Caroline and Kristina. Visitation will be held on June 27, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Pearson-Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road. His funeral service will be held on June 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church in Harrods Creek. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
