More detail on this person: Joseph Albert Fuks Brookings, South Dakota Joseph A. Fuks was born on December 20, 1939 in Yankton, South Dakota the son of Albert and Ella (Dufak) Fuks. He died on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 64 years. Joe grew up on the family farm near Tabor, SD and was a graduate of the Tabor High School and SDSU in Brookings, SD. He was united in marriage to Joanne Gustafson on June 22, 1964 in Brookings, SD. Upon joining the United States Army, they spent the next 12 years at various military bases. While in the Army, he was a helicopter pilot for two tours of duty in Viet Nam. He was a founding member of the Black Horse Calvary Association. After serving in the military, he was employed at several business's in Brookings including Daktronics Inc. and most recently at Larson's Manufacturing before ill health forced his retirement. He had many interesting hobbies that included helping to form the University Plains Speedway, woodworking and gardening. Joe is survived by his wife, Joanne of Brookings, SD; one son Matthew Fuks (Kari) of Shawnee, KS; one daughter Lori Hruby (Michael) of Mesa, AZ; his two grandchildren Jeffrey and Maddie Fuks who were his pride and joy; one brother John Fuks (Pat) of Tabor, SD; three sisters Dolores Kotab (Don) of Dante, SD, Dorothy Caba (Don) of Eden Prairie, MN, Lea Hejl (Leonard) of Austin, MN; mother-in-law Doris Gustafson of Brookings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
