More detail on this person: Pilot dies, 7 hurt as copter hits house FREMONT, Calif. (AP) - A helicopter pilot returning to base after a round of Mediterranean fruit fly pesticide spraying crashed into a house Thursday, killing the pilot and injuring seven people on the ground, officials said. The Bell 205 helicopter apparently developed engine trouble while flying in thick fog, ripped through a power line and collided with the house, police and fire officials said. The pilot, who was alone in the craft, was identified by the Alameda County coroner's office as Charles Donald Faircloth, 35, originally of Salemburg, N.C.
