More detail on this person: Lloyd J. Faul Lloyd J. Faul, a resident of McLean, Va., was born in Sunset on Nov. 18, 1927, and passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Reston Hospital Center. He was preceded in death by Anna, his beloved wife of 60 years. He joined the military in 1946, beginning his career as a military policeman in the U.S. Army. In 1958, he transitioned to the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps and served two tours in Vietnam, before retiring as a brigadier general in 1973. In 1995, he was inducted into The U.S. Army Ordnance Corps Hall of Fame. Lloyd J. Faul's second career also began in 1973, when he joined the fledgling bread company, Vie de France Corp., where he worked until 1986. As president and CEO of Vie de France, he was instrumental in making croissants as commonplace in the U.S. as donuts. He received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in business administration from Babson College. Lloyd J. Faul is survived by five children, Catherine Bridgers and husband Robert, Tina M. Faul, Dr. Lloyd Faul and Scotty, Michael Faul and wife Rosemary and Mark Faul and wife Joanne. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Dennis, Meghan, Jennifer, Erin, Kelly, Taylor, Sarah, Doyle, Anna and Gannon; and four great-grandchildren, Colin, Evan, Logan and Miranda. Relatives and friends are invited to Lloyd J. Faul's Life Celebration at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, Va., on Wednesday, July 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass and full honors ceremony will be held at The Old Post Chapel, Fort Myer, Va., on Thursday, July 28, at 8:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery.
