After graduation from Kansas State University with a B.S. in business, he entered Officer Candidate School, serving as Captain for the U.S. Army, flying helicopters in the Vietnam War. He was awarded numerous medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with the 20 Oak Leaf Clusters. We are so grateful for the love and faithfulness of our friends and church family. These wonderful people kept vigil for two and a half years as the disease caused by Agent Orange ravaged his body. We also want to give special thanks to those individuals who provided love and support for his daily needs, Yvette, Keisha, Tyra, Pat, Amanda, Christine, Laura and a special thank you to Reverend Patrick Gahan whose weekly visits both inspired and delighted Bill. A memorial service celebrating Bill's life will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 510 Belknap Place on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas, 205 W.
