More detail on this person: FORSYTH Robert W. Jr., 75, of Wyckoff, passed away on Saturday,
December 31, 2016. Robert grew up in Hackensack and River Edge and has lived in Wyckoff for the
past 30 years. Robert served in the United States Marine Corps as a Captain and was a helicopter
pilot during the Vietnam War. He then went on to be a pilot with TWA for 35 years before retiring.
Robert was predeceased by his wife Karen Mae Forsyth in 2009. He is survived by his two sons:
Jeffrey and Andrew, both of Wyckoff, his fiancé Selma C. Alaimo of Wyckoff, his siblings: Bonnie S.
Shallcross of Manasquan, NJ, Laura J. Mullen of Roswell, GA, James L. Forsyth of Pompton Lakes, NJ,
Ellen F. Johnson of Kingwood, TX, and his sister-in-law Christine M. Bakalis of Santa Cruz, CA. The
family will receive friends on Thursday 6-8:30PM with a Memorial service beginning at 8:30 PM at the
Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations
in Robert's memory can be made to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, 3800 Fettler Park Drive,
Ste. 104, Dumfries, VA 22025 or the Aviation Hall of Fame and Museum of New Jersey, Teterboro
Airport, 400 Fred Wehran Dr., Teterboro, NJ 07608.
