More detail on this person: Celebration of Life Services for Dale Gallaway, 70, of Plainview will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Lockney with Bro. Joseph Tillery officiating and Chad Cook assisting. Dale passed from this life on November 26, 2018 in Plainview. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Moore Rose Funeral Home of Lockney. Dale was born on August 12, 1948 in Plainview to A.C. and Georgia Lee (Smith) Gallaway. He graduated from Lockney High School in 1966. He married Debbie Anne Lee on August 16, 1975 in Lockney. From this union they had three daughters; Lee Anne, Mandy, and Alana. In 1967, Dale volunteered to enlist in the United States Army. He served for 18 months during the Vietnam war as a helicopter pilot for the 173rd Assault Helicopter Company and attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. His call sign was Robin Hood 19. Dale was honorably discharged in 1972. Dale worked as a farmer for 40 years. He loved fishing, cooking and spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents A.C. and Georgia Gallaway. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; Debbie Gallaway of Plainview, his three daughters; Lee Anne Gallaway Mitchell and husband Tim of Tucson, Az., Mandy Gallaway Lacey and husband Shaun of Westerly, RI., and Alana Gallaway Bernal and husband Mike of Austin, Tx., three grandchildren; Gus Mitchell, Cora Mitchell, and Miles Lacey, and one sister; Margaret Namken of Lubbock. The family has asked that memorial donations, in honor of Dale Gallaway, be made to the First Baptist church in Lockney, The American Legion Post# 141 in Lockney, or to a charity of your choice.
